The Gospel in Every Culture: Finding Jesus in Unexpected Places

How the World Race reveals the heart of God through the diversity of His people.
When you picture sharing the Gospel, what comes to mind? Maybe it’s standing in front of a church. Maybe it’s handing out Bibles in a crowded square. Maybe it’s praying with someone on the street.
What if the Gospel wasn’t something you brought into a culture, but something already woven into it – waiting to be recognized, celebrated, and shared?
That’s the beauty of the World Race Expedition. As you travel across continents and cultures, you start to see the Gospel not as a one-size-fits-all message, but as a beautifully diverse, globally present story, written by a God who speaks every language and moves in every nation.
The Gospel Sounds Like…
In South Asia, it might sound like a song sung barefoot on a rooftop in the early morning light.
In Kenya, it might be the drumbeat of worship echoing through the fields.
In Albania, it could be the quiet hospitality of a grandmother who invites you into her home with nothing but tea and a smile.
On the Race, Racers often find Jesus in places they least expected – in the joy of children, the prayers of persecuted believers, the generosity of those who have little, and the reverence of worship that looks nothing like what they grew up with.
And every time, it’s a reminder: the Church is bigger, bolder, and more beautiful than we imagined.
God Doesn’t Need You to Bring Him – He’s Already There
The World Race shifts your mindset. You stop seeing yourself as the one carrying Jesus into new places, and start realizing He’s already been at work long before you arrived.
You step into ancient stories of faith.
You meet local believers who have laid down everything to follow Jesus.
You sit in churches where you don’t understand a word and still feel the Holy Spirit move.
One Racer put it this way:
“I went on the Race to bring the Gospel to the nations. But what I didn’t expect was how much the nations would teach me about Jesus.”
The Gospel isn’t limited to your language or worship style. It is alive and active across the globe, revealing itself in ways that stretch your faith and deepen your understanding of God’s heart for all people.
The Global Church Changes You
When you worship in a different language, when you see faith lived out in hardship, when you learn to listen more than you speak – you’re changed.
You become more humble. More open. More connected to the global Body of Christ.
You realize that the Gospel isn’t about making every nation look like your home church – it’s about seeing how God’s love takes root in every culture uniquely and powerfully.
The Race teaches you to celebrate those differences, to learn from them, and to grow because of them.
